I was asked by my friend AJ to paint this year's event poster for the 3rd and most extensive invitational art show in its' series. The concept for the art show is very unique. its by and for tattooers primarily, but it will be open to the public for print sale in January. Here's an explanation from the creator of the art show, AJ:
We will be taking all the artists names involved and put them in a lottery, everyone will receive the name of another artist involved and they will make a painting for them. There is no subject matter as long as it's framed and the size being 11x14. You won't know who you are receiving a painting from until the night of the show when you see all the paintings and your name next to it.
We have had 2 very successful shows with Austin Tattooers and this time we will be doing this show in collaboration with the Star Of Texas Thursday January 25th. All the art will be moved to the actual convention and displayed all weekend.

Sticker Flash collaboration with John Rippey! whaaaat!
I was Privileged to be able to collaborate with a world class Tattooer and painter- John Rippey of 'Classic Electric Tattoo' Frederick, Maryland on these to flash sheets. I painted 3 designs on one sheet, and 2 designs on the other, then we mailed them to each other to complete them.
Johns sheet 1 contributions: Snake woman, and scorpion sword.
Johns sheet 2 contributions: Flaming Skull, Tarantula Skull, and Woman head.
@johnrippeyv
The rest of the images were painted by myself.
These will be available as STICKER flash sheets. You can buy from me or John Directly, or look for them on the website rebelreprints.com
Rebel Reprints are our printer for these piece, and one of my other pieces. The quality is superior, and the services are creative. I highly recommend Rebel.
Each design will be die cut so you can peel them off as stickers, but you don't have to. you can also just collect these as an awesome and unique pair of flash. You won't find many flash sheets that will have this dual purpose and will probably go up in value for that reason, if you collect.
Lightning Metamorphosis
This is the first outline session on Graham. It depicts a metamorphosis transformation of a koi turning into a dragon. popular in Japanese folklore. It is among 4 seperate lotus blossoms, to represent his family. The lightning in the closest foreground serves as a 'catalyst' for the transformation. I really enjoyed this whole process. There was a lot of drawing on the skin involved. Graham is a great client, sits like a rock for hours. We should be done in a few months!!
We got to put a little color on Graham's Koi-Dragon 3/4 sleeve. Shes starting to come to life!
Small Sacred Heart Painting
I LOVE sacred heart imagery. I thought it would be interesting to use barbed wire for the thorns. This one is 5"x7" and is FOR SALE in a really cool rustic frame.
